French Country Table in reclaimed oak

A French country table in reclaimed oak can be an excellent pairing with either transitional or antique homes.  This delicate soft curves of the J-Cab leg add subtle contrast and balance to the clean lines of the top while the hardness of the century old wood makes it an excellent choice as  a high use table.  In France, the cabriole leg is associated with the Louis XV period of furniture and derives from the French word “cabrioler” meaning to leap like a goat.  The basis of its original concept was inspired by 4- footed mammals especially those with hoofs. The cabriole design appeared for the first time in the United States in the 18th century and has been used  in furniture designs universally for the last 2 centuries.
